Common Signs of a Pool Leak
If you suspect your pool may be leaking, here are a few signs to watch out for:
1. Sudden Drop in Water Level
If you notice your pool water level dropping consistently, even without hot weather or wind, it could be a leak.
2. Higher Water Bills
Unexplained spikes in your water bill? A pool leak might be the culprit. Rule it out first with simple tests (described below).
3. Wet or Soggy Ground
Muddy or soggy patches around your pool area can indicate water escaping underground.
4. Sunken Ground and Cracked Tiles
Leaks can cause the soil around your pool to shift, leading to cracks in tiles or sunken areas.

Simple Pool Leak Tests You Can Try
Before booking a call out, you can test for leaks yourself using these methods:
Tape or Marker Test
Fill your pool to the normal level and mark the waterline with tape or a marker. Check the water level 24 hours later. If it drops more than a couple of fingers' width, you may have a leak.
Bucket Test
Fill a bucket with pool water and place it on a step inside your pool. Mark the water levels inside and outside the bucket. After 24 hours, compare the levels. If the pool water drops more than the water inside the bucket, there is likely a leak.
